This blog is a place to document my DIY creative sports projects. The real question is why I do these things in the first place? Simple answer: it’s fun. Complicated answer: it’s a way for me to make sports the way I want them to be.

I learned how to sew many years ago when I was in high school, but the interest remained dormant until a couple of years ago, when I decided to buy a sewing machine. This changed everything, as having access to a machine without having to borrow one let me to start experimenting and making things as time permitted. Sports uniforms have always been an interest, and is why I had Mom show me how to sew in the first place.

Armed with my machine, I can now create a world of sports that is quirky, fun, and wholly unconcerned with anything about sports that I don’t like or don’t care about. I like to think of it as a parallel universe of the sports world, fully from my own imagination.

If you are wondering about the name Wafflebored, it’s very simple: those cool old blockers goalies used to wear were nicknamed ‘waffle boards’ due to their appearance with all of the holes. The spelling is my own twist. I can assure you I’m never bored, although I frequently waffle.

Love the site. Thank you for sharing all of this wisdom. I’ve been wanting to make a 1963 Lions Jersey (George Plimpton) for some time. I was hoping to pick your brain.
